The very first time you light your Taydanka candle, it's crucial to allow it to burn for 2-3 hours. This initial burn creates a complete "melt pool," where the wax melts all the way to the edges of the container. This even melt pool prevents (tunnelling) this where the wax builds up around the wick, leading to uneven burning and wasted wax. Just never leave a burning candle unattended.

Trimming your wick after each burn will ensure your candle does not burn hotter than it should, prolonging its life. Trim the little black ball of wax on the end of your wick to keep your candle burning correctly.
